The Unbolused Cookie?

A funny story for you.  Yesterday, we had a BBQ after church services.  There were hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, and the usual BBQ fare.  I had every intention of skipping the cookie and shot insulin to cover the rest.  Injecting insulin to cover food is known as a "bolus".  You can see where I'm going with this, right?  I had the cookie anyway.  Later that night, right before bed, I tested my blood sugar as usual and boom--a black and white reminder that no, I do not create extra insulin on my own.  Right now I do have Type 1 diabetes and this isn't all some giant mistaken diagnosis.  And no, I have not yet been spontaneously healed by God.

Stupid diabetes.  Stupid unbolused cookie.

And now, here I am.
